This classic property, in a privileged and quiet location in the popular residential area of Pinares, is only 1,000 feet from “Playa Mansa”, the beach on the calmer western side of Punta del Este.
The house was originally built with a thatched roof, but several years ago, for insurance reasons, this was covered with a high-quality imitation clay tile roof made from sheets of galvanized steel, preserving the beautiful character of the thatched roof on the inside.
Built in 1988, the house has been lived in continuously and as a result has been preserved, maintained and renovated on an ongoing basis.
The entrance opens onto a two-story-high living room, with a beautiful exposed beam and thatch ceiling and a wood-burning stove, as well as the adjoining open but spatially separated dining area, which leads to the separate kitchen. On the ground floor there is also a bedroom and an adjoining bathroom with a shower, which can be accessed by two different doors, one from the bedroom and one from the living/dining room.
A beautiful wooden staircase leads from the living room to the upper floor, where there is a large open loft, which could easily be used, for example, as a work space, as well as another two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The 14,467-square-feet property is surrounded by a high hedge, other high vegetation and a fence, so that it cannot be seen from the street or from the neighboring properties. The elegant and well-tended back yard, which can be viewed from the tiled terrace in front of the living room, is a marvellous green oasis. In the front yard, which is also beautifully landscaped, there is another terrace with seating.
On one side of the house there is a carport with direct access to the kitchen. At the entrance to the property there is a remote-controlled electric gate.
A spacious “barbacoa” or grill house, accessible from the carport and backyard, it the ideal space for pleasant social gatherings and celebrations with family and friends.
All of the rooms in the house, as well as the grill house, are equipped with split air-conditioning units. The efficient woodstove and electric radiators also help guarantee pleasantly warm temperatures even in the coolest months of the year.
The property has an automatic sprinkler system supplied with water from its own well.
Security is provided by an alarm system, floodlights and video surveillance cameras.
