The small family resort La Floresta is part of the Costa de Oro, Uruguays „golden coast“ that stretches east of Montevideo in the Canelones department. The resort is especially popular because it’s close to the capital.
Characteristic of the place itself are above all the beautiful 2.2 miles long sandy beaches, the extensive dune areas and the charming nature, for La Floresta is located between two estuaries, of the Solís Chico and the Sarandí creek.
The resort offers a good infrastructure throughout the whole year, with supermarkets, DIY-stores, local market and medical services. A wider range can be found in the nearby town of Atlántida (5mi). To the Montevideo city center it’s only 30mi, and of course there are several daily bus connections to the capital.
