This modern house is located in “El Quijote”, a large rural gated community, just a 20-minute drive from the small, hip beach town of La Barra and the Atlantic beaches, and half an hour from Punta del Este.

The house was built by the current owner in 2016 for permanent personal use in traditional construction style, so a great deal of emphasis was placed on quality.
With 2,640 square feet of living/usable space, the house offers a large living/dining room with integrated kitchen, three bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, and a utility room.

The center of the single-story house is the 800-square-feet living/dining room with an integrated modern kitchen and a central circular woodstove. On both sides, continuous ceiling-high glass surfaces ensure an open, light-filled living atmosphere. Rustic elements, especially the beautiful, high-quality natural stone floor, provide an attractive contrast to the simple, straightforward character of the room.

The bedrooms are located next to the living room on both sides of the house. On one side is the master suite with an en suite private bathroom, and on the other side are the other two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. One of the bedrooms also has a multipurpose room with a kitchenette, and could be used as a small apartment, for example, for guests.

There is also a 540-square-feet annex with two rooms and a bathroom that could be used for guests.

The equipment is top quality. In addition to the natural stone floor already mentioned, all of the windows are double-glazed, and the house is equipped with gas-powered underfloor heating as well as split air-conditioning units in all the rooms.

The “El Quijote” residential complex borders directly on a 408-acres nature reserve in the delta of the Maldonado River, of which this 1.25-acres property has a wide and, above all, unobstructed view.

The protected area is a part of the residential complex and is an inviting setting to observe nature, take canoe rides and enjoy horseback riding.

The complex itself offers a 24-hour-security service, a club house with common rooms, a pool area with a sundeck, a tennis court and guest houses. There is also the option of having your own horses with supervision provided.
