Between the coastal road and the beach, the rurally quiet, closed residential area “Tajamares de la Pedrera” is situated not far away from La Pedrera, a small and popular beach resort on Uruguay’s atlantic coast, 6 miles northwest of La Paloma.

Characterized by its natural surroundings and a high architectural standard of all the buildings, the extensive 250—acres-area with lots of 40,000 to 55,000 square meters, lakes, tennis courts and soccer field has of course its own access to the wide beach via a magnificent dune forest.

Built in 2010, this modern residence more than fulfills all the requirements. The minimalist and straight-lined style with bright rooms and spaces, some as high as two floors, exposed concrete and huge windows also continues in the eclectic interiors where every item and furniture claims attention in the achieved combination of antique and modern.

On two floors and a total living and usable area of 2,756 square feet, the house offers an ample, double height lounge whose eyecatcher is, without any doubt, the open fireplace with its impressive front of exposed concrete. Furthermore, there is an adjacent open dining room with a counter towards the integrated kitchen, and a guest toilet. Both dining room and kitchen lead to a roofed terrace with outside barbecue area.

On the upper floor that can be reached by an interior staircase, there is a gallery which could be used as an office, and the master bedroom with its own bathroom and a big terrace with sea view. Two other bedrooms and a second bathroom are located in a side wing of the house to be accessed through a foyer, a hallway with ceiling high windows at both sides, connecting both parts of the building. These bedrooms also have their own terraces and access to the garden. The side wing´s rooftop terrace can be reached from the outside.

If desired, the 49,568 square meter property could be extended to nearly 2.5 acres acquiring the lot right next to it (54,121 square meters, 29.000 USD).

Off the main season (January / February) you will find your daily supplies in La Pedrera (at 3 miles), but a comprehensive infrastructure is available throughout the whole year in La Aguada and La Paloma (at some 6 miles).

    Dear Mrs. van Bevern:

Since our return to the cold of Germany almost a month ago, we have fondly reminisced about the wonderful time we spent in Uruguay, especially in Punta del Este.

Our “exploratory trip”, which was mainly meant to give us an idea of whether we could eventually move there, was very revealing. And that is mainly thanks to your objective and always honest presentation of the local realities during our visits to houses, different regions, etc. We very much appreciated your pa… Read more
