Well-maintained 96 acres chacra with working olive plantation (5,500 trees), just 20 mi from the coast
This extremely well-maintained chacra with a well-managed olive tree plantation is situated in a wonderfully scenic location, just off Ruta 39 and only 20 mi north of the coast.
The location is perfect: you can enjoy the quiet country life, on the one hand, without having to do without the advantages of the nearly infrastructure, on the other hand. San Carlos, the nearest town, is just 9 mi away, while Punta del Este and Maldonado are 19 mi away. Plenty of shops, very good medical care, excellent bilingual private schools (Spanish/English), and a wide range of sports and cultural activities are all within easy reach, a mere half-hour drive away.
The plantation of 5,500 olive trees, most of them five years old, yielded its first profits in 2015. It is currently maintained and managed by an extremely reliable and experienced employee, who could of course continue to be contracted, as this would be the most practical option.
Water is supplied by five small terraced reservoirs that flow into one another, which are in turn fed by a stream.
There are three buildings on the property: the main house with 1,700 sqft of living space, a spacious 860 sqft covered terrace (included roofed car port) and a large swimming pool, a 1,080 sqft staff house, and a 2,150 sqft barn.
In addition, near the main house there is an attractive container home that can be used as a guest house or office. All of the buildings were constructed in 2012 with excellent quality standards.
The country style main house is built on one floor, comprising a spacious living/dining room with fireplace, a fully-equipped and functionally designed separate kitchen with breakfast bar, three bedrooms, each with private bath and access to the garden, a guest toilet and a covered grill area, which could also be used as a carport. The rooms are equipped with underfloor heating and air-conditioning units with a heating function.
The staff house, built in similar style, has a living room with integrated kitchen, three bedrooms, one with en suite bath, two bathrooms, and an additional room for staff with private bathroom and independent entrance.
The barn offers plenty of space for tools and machinery, as well as for pressing and bottling equipment, which has not yet been acquired, although these processes could take place on the chacra itself, in view of the expected increase in yield.
