12-acre Chacra with House on Ruta 12 near Pueblo Edén – RDC524

This 12-acre chacra is located just a few hundred yards off the scenic Ruta 12, nestled in the green, rolling hills of Maldonado and only a few kilometers from the charming small village of Pueblo Edén.

The house was built a few years ago in two stages. The first part was a steel-frame cabin of 550sqft, comprising an open living/dining area, one bedroom, and one bathroom. Later, a second block was added in traditional hollow-block construction (615sqft), directly connected by a hallway and equipped with an integrated kitchen and bathroom. An 915sqft veranda, extending along two sides of the house, offers pleasant views of the green countryside and the Maldonado hills.

A 20-foot container is available for garden tools, machinery, bicycles, and additional storage.

The original idea was to convert the first block into a spacious master suite. Due to personal circumstances, however, the project was not fully completed, so some finishing work and landscaping remain outstanding. The buildings, property, and location nonetheless offer ample scope for further development.

In nearby Pueblo Edén, you will find several popular cafés and restaurants, a small grocery store for daily needs, as well as private leisure activities. From time to time, cultural and historical events such as Uruguay’s traditional “Criollas” – local gaucho festivals – also take place. Larger shopping facilities and further infrastructure are available in San Carlos, about 20 minutes away. The coast at Punta Ballena, with the long sandy beaches of Portezuelo Bay, can be reached in around 30 minutes by car.
